1.1 Format Settings

Navigate to the various settings for each style outlined below via this menu and subsequent options:

Report Formatting

Use this to edit the overall appearance of your report.

You can edit the format of:

  • overall data, row shading and highlights, header or column locks, cell padding and spacing
  • column and row headings
  • report borders
  • report header and footer
  • report sorting

Column/Row/Measure Formatting

Use this to edit the appearance of individual columns (or rows) in your report.

You can edit:

  • Display: column title, format, show or hide field, suppress duplicates and more
  • Sorting: how the column is sorted
  • Data: style for this column including alignment, font, background, wrapping and more
  • Borders


Conditional Formatting

Use this to apply conditional formatting to individual columns (or rows) in your report.

You can use:

  • Basic (based on chosen field's value) or Advanced (based on another field's value)
  • Style:
    • Cell (cell colour)
    • Text (text colour)
    • Icon:
      • Traffic Lights (green, orange, red, black)
      • Arrows Down (blue, green, orange, red)
      • Arrows Up (blue, green, orange, red)
      • Ticks (green, orange, red)
      • Shapes (green, orange, red)
  • Formatting argument: apply (choose colour) when field (choose operand i.e. equals) the following value/s.

Filter Formatting

Use this to format any filters added in your report.

General filter settings:

  • Where and how filters are displayed
  • Whether filters are automatically applied, remember last value, and other actions

Individual filter settings (select field under Filters heading to change):

  • Description (name)
  • Display value in legend
  • Mandatory or omit
  • Remember value applied
  • Manual or cached values
  • Default value(s)

Section Formatting

Use this to format any sections used in your report.

  • Display (name) and format
  • Style: single page, multiple (page per section) or tabbed (tab per section)
  • Show labels or just section value
  • Style (format): same as body title, table header or custom
  • Summary: totals for each section
  • Sort: how sections are sorted

Here are the default settings for report titles and descriptions, found under Report Formatting.

Green = Successful, Complete (Value=3 in this case)
Orange = In Progress, On Hold, Not Started (Value=1 in this case)
Red = Unsuccessful (Value=2 in this case)
Black = Withdrawn (Value=4 in this case)



2.5 Data Alignment

Different types of data look best with different alignment. See the different types of data, and what they are used for, to determine how it should be aligned.

Go to Column Formatting > select field > Data > Alignment to update these settings.
