Getting started
Once you have organised your data on the Data screen, go to the Charts option in the top menu.
Chart types
Choose your chart type, or leave it as an autochart based on the fields you will add shortly.
If selecting a chart type, browse through the options on the right hand side. You can also access this by clicking the pie graph icon. You may choose to add your fields first (see below) and then choose your chart type.
As you hover over chart types, a description of the type will appear below, as well as colour code based on its suitability based on the fields available.
For details on all the chart types available, refer to 1. Chart Types.
Field selection
Drag your fields to the boxes available, based on your requirements. These may change if you have chosen a chart type already.
Note that some will be marked as mandatory, and some fields won't be suitable for all uses.
Advanced functions
Some metrics can have functions applied to them. Drag these to the relevant box and, if required, specify which metric it can be applied to and other associated settings.
Chart formatting
Use the charts menu to edit the formatting of your chart, including:
- chart appearance
- chart title
- chart legend
- axis and axis labels
- chart background
- data labels
- series colour and format
- combination chart settings
For specific details on the chart formatting menu, and recommended styles for different chart types, see 3. Chart Formatting.
