A dynamic question in the Recruitment system works in relatively the same manner as a parent/child question, however it allows the answer options in the child question to dynamically change based on the answer given in the parent question. The parent question can only be a Multiple Choice Question.
An example of this is having a salary based question to display the appropriate salary ranges dependant on the answers given to a preceding question like Role Type. This question is useful in a Requisition and/or a Job Details form.
This functionality also allows the dynamic relationship to be established within the Global Question Pool.
To set this up:
1.Go to the Global Question Pool and build the parent question, adding the multiple choice answers.
2.Once you have set up your parent question, create the child question (as either a multiple choice, multiple select or ordered preference questions).
3.Once you have completed the Question Details and Question Options sections (and subsequently saved the progress), a new tab called Answer Options will appear at the top of the screen.
4.Click on the Link Answers to a Parent Question to establish the dynamic relationship.
5.This will then take you to the list of all available multiple choice questions.
6.Locate the parent question from this list and click the Select link under the Action(s) column.
7.This will take you back to the Answer Options tab of the child question, the connection of the parent question will appear above the answers.
If you have chosen the incorrect parent question, you can click the Remove link.
Now you are able to add the answers to the child question.
8.Click the + Add New Answers link at the top right hand corner.
9.This will display the Answers page. You will be able to enter up to 10 answers at one time (as per usual), however you will be able to choose which parent answer will trigger these answer options to appear next to the child question.
Note: If you wish to add more then 10 answers, click the + Add Option New Answers link again to get 10 more answers.
10.Once you have added your answers for the parent answer, click the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.
11.This will take you back to a list of the answers you have added. Each answer will show which parent answer it is related to.
12.Repeat this process until you have created an answer to link to each parent answer option.
13.To return to the Global Question List, click the link in the breadcrumb trail on the top left hand corner of the screen.
