Key purpose
Compare the breakdown of jobs for a specified job field and selected time periods.
Charts
Multi-pie chart (or stacked column/bar chart).
By month job open for filtered period + total for comparison period.
Labels are volume/percentage only, colour indicates segment name as per chart legend.
The Fancy Stuff
Table includes count of jobs and calculated percentage of column total.
Comparison period data is generated via a union query that matches all other filters and fields but with its own date period and submission period label.
Filters are linked between the master and union query so that restrictions applied to one are also applied to the other, exluding date period filters.
Comparison period filter value is embedded in the report canvas via parameter replacement text.
Month and comparison period results are ordered by hidden columns (year/9999) then by month org ref code (with month names numbered 1-12).
Pie and multi-pie charts are only recommended for metrics with up to four segments. Alternative chart types are stacked column or bar charts for metrics with a larger number of segments.
