Volume of jobs assigned to specified user by job type.

Key purpose

Compare the breakdown of jobs for a specified job field, by month opened and compared to another time period.

Charts

  • Multi-pie chart (or stacked column/bar chart).

  • By month job open for filtered period.

  • Total for comparison period.

  • Labels are volume/percentage only

  • Colour indicates segment name as per chart legend.

The Fancy Stuff

  • Table includes count of jobs and calculated percentage of column total.

  • Comparison period data is generated via a union query

  • Filters are linked between the master and union query

  • Comparison period filter value (e.g. This Calendar Year) is embedded in the report canvas via parameter replacement text.

  • Results are ordered by hidden numbered columns.

Expansion Ideas

  • Copy and repeat with another custom GQ

  • Section results by another custom GQ to compare one with another

Pie and multi-pie charts are only recommended for metrics with up to four segments. Alternative chart types are stacked column or bar charts for metrics with a larger number of segments.
