The Parent/Child functionality gives you the ability to make the form dynamically change based on the candidate/user’s answers, by allowing multiple Child questions to be connected a single Parent question. The child question(s) will appear based on how the parent question is answered.

The parent question can only be a Multiple Choice Question. Whilst the questions are built in the Global Question Pool, the parent/child relationship needs to be established once the questions have been imported into a form.
An example would be asking if the candidate was a current employee, and if they answered yes, they would be required to enter their employee number.

- Go to the Form Template List and click edit on the form you wish to add the parent and child questions to.
- Import the probable parent and child questions to the form by clicking the Add global question link.
- Select the questions you wish to Add.
- Click Add at the bottom of the page.
- Once the questions have been added to the form, edit the question that will be the parent question by clicking the Edit link.
- On the Manage Question page, click the Answer Options tab.
- Click the Edit link on the answer option that will trigger the appearance of the child questions.
- Select the child question(s) from the Available Questions field that you wish to use and click the Add > button.
- Once the questions have been added, they will appear in the Dynamic Child Question field.
- Now the parent/child relationship has been established for this answer option, click the Save button.
- Repeat this process if you wish to link other child questions to the answer options in the parent question.
- Once you return to the form, the questions that have been dynamically linked will appear like so:
Note: The arrow icons indicate which questions are the parent questions, and which are child questions.
