Whilst a rule is used to add a Candidate to the Order of Merit, during the process you are able to remove candidates from the Order of Merit once a candidate passes through any assessment step.  For instance, once a preferred candidate passes the offer acceptance or on boarding stage, they will cease to be on the Order of Merit list.

To ensure the OOM functionality works, a rule action needs to be added to an Assessment Step.

To add an OOM rule action to update the OOM to Placed for a candidate who has accepted an offer,

  1. Locate the Assessment Step you wish to use to take the successful candidate of the OOM and click Add Rule.

Note:  If you already have Assessment rules, click the Rule Name (more specifically the Successful rule – in this case Accepted).

2. Complete the Manage Rule screen; be sure to use the decision question in the Assessment Form as the Source Question. Once your rule is configured, click the Add Action link.

3. This will take you to the Manage Rule Action screen.  Select the Set OOM Status option from the Action Type dropdown list.

4. To make sure that the successful candidate doesn’t appear when running an OOM search, you need to change the Set OOM Status option.  You are able to choose In Progress, Placed or Declined.

5. As the candidate has accepted the employment offer, choose Placed, then click Save.

6. The completed rule will look like so:

7. Return to the APM by clicking on the breadcrumb trail at the top left hand side of the screen.
