Enabling Broadcasts

Broadcasts can be enabled on a report by editing the distribution settings when saving the report. If broadcasts aren't being received by some users, check these settings.

  1. At a minimum, ensure that Broadcast is enabled. You can also enable Personal Broadcast to set a broadcast directly to yourself.
  2. Edit the Email & Broadcast Security. To ensure any recipient can receive the report, set this to Unsecure.
    • Unsecure: broadcast will send to all users and email addresses
    • All Users: broadcast will only send to recognised Analytics users
    • Validated Users: broadcast will only send to recognised Analytics users with permission to the sub-folder where the report is stored

Ensure you save your changes.

The selected root page could not be found.

Setting Up Basic Broadcasts

On the report output screen, click on the Broadcast icon.

Click on Create New at the bottom of the broadcast window. Any existing broadcasts will appear in between.

Click on Broadcast.

Alternatively, you could choose:

    • Smart Task - assign a task to someone based on the report results. They can access and complete their tasks via their analytics profile.
    • Personal Broadcast - send a broadcast just to yourself. Personal broadcasts must have been enabled above.
    • FTP Schedule - transfer report results to another server via FTP. Speak to support@acendre.com if you think you may need this option.

You will now see the broadcast setup screen.

Adding Recipients

Type into the Recipients box to add broadcast recipients. You can filter by all matches, People only, Groups only, or Reports (containing email addresses) only.

  • To add an email address that isn't against a registered Analytics user, simply type in the address and hit enter.

Email Subject, Message and Attachment Type

Add in your email subject and message, and choose your attachment type.

  • HTML will put the report results in the body of the email, while pdf, csv, word, excel and text options will be attached to the email.

Filters and Schedule

Determine what filters need to be applied when the broadcast runs. You can choose between:

  • current filter values
  • default filter values
  • bookmarked filter values, if a bookmark has been made
  • in the case of Advanced Broadcasts (recipients are listed in another report), matching the broadcasted report's filters with columns in the other report to match results with email addresses

You can also determine if the report will always be sent, on a Continuous schedule, or if it should only send as an Alert when certain rules are met.

  • If using the Alert option, click Add Delivery Rules and add your conditions.

Frequency

Determine when the broadcast will send and how often. You can choose from minute to annual frequencies.

For more advanced options, including the time of day that a broadcast will send, select Advanced settings.

You can set:

    • Broadcast frequency
    • Time of broadcast, including timezone
    • Limit the schedule period, i.e. set an end date
    • Enable failure notification so that a set group of users are notified if a broadcast fails. Note that this group must be set up already.

Click Submit to confirm your broadcast settings.
