Summary

WCAG 2.0 compliant candidate portal

Deactivating SEEK job board account templates

Providing the ability to deactivate Seek job board templates so that they are not visible for selection when creating a new SEEK job ad.

WCAG 2.0 compliant candidate portal

In this release we are providing an accessible Level AA conformance with WCAG 2.0. This outcome the implementation phase of Level A conformance by December 2012 and NGA.NET customers will enjoy being two years ahead of the December 2014 milestone of Level AA.

Note: By default, all customers will have the Accessibility Mode Candidate Portral Enabled. If you wish to have this switched off, please contact the Support Team on 1800 642 638.

A new link, ‘Switch to accessibility mode’ will now be available on all candidate portals, offering a basic user interface that is optimised for candidates with a visual impairment using screen reader tools. The Accessible mode is stripped of all branding so that only content remains.

When in Accessibility mode the candidate will also have access to standard Candidate Portal features such as Job Alerts and Job Search.

When viewing a Jobs List, jobs and their associated action links will appear in one long list rather than in a table format. Links will also be provided at the top of the list, allowing candidates to sort the list by Job Name or Closing Date.

The way in which questions appear on an application form (or other candidate related assessment forms) will change when in Accessibility mode. The input orientation of an answer in relation to the question text will always be horizontal.

Where dynamic related questions (parent/child) are used in a form, the child question(s) will only appear either by selecting the button “Click to update the form and display child questions” or upon saving the application form step.

Where dynamic related answer questions are used in a form, a button will appear next to the Parent question “Click to update the form and select new sub options ”. Once this is clicked, the form will update and the candidate will be able to then select an appropriate answer value from the related child question.

Where a combination of parent/child and dynamically related answer questions has been used, a button will appear next to the Parent question “Click here to update the form and select new sub options and display child questions”.

Where a mistake has been made in a form, validation messages will appear in a single list rather than in line with each question where an error has been made. A message will appear at the top of the form alerting the candidate that they need to review. A link will also appear in this message, allowing the candidate to jump to the list of validation messages.

When viewing the validation messages list, a link will appear next to each one, allowing the candidates to skip to that question.

Before submitting an application, the Application Summary page will display. This page will contain standard features such as links to the Job Details, ability to Print Summary and to Submit Application Now. A Step Status list will provide links to skip down to the summary of each form step and an Edit link will be provided against each form step, allowing the candidate to return to that section of the form and edit any of their answers.

To assist candidates in understanding the content and function of a particular page, information text has been added to most screens, explaining the purpose of the page and the possible actions that can be taken

The accessible portal is displayed with no customer branding. Minimal branding may applied - should this be a requirement, please contact your Client Advisor on 1800 642 638 to obtain a quote.

Deactivating SEEK job board account templates

Customers using the SEEK job board will now be able to have any old job account templates deactivated so that they are no longer available for use when creating a new SEEK job ad.

When duplicating a job ad that is using a deactivated template, the SEEK Template field will default to the first available template in the drop down list, which can be changed as required.

If you require any SEEK job board account templates to be deactivated, please contact our Support Team on 1800 642 638.
