To apply a reference code, select this option under Column Formatting > Display > Format drop down for the relevant field.
There will likely be two Reference Codes built in:
Month Name, to apply the month name and sort order to a numerical month number field
Step Status Order, to apply a sort order to step statuses
You can either edit an existing Reference Code, or create a new one for your field.

Details
Specify:
The name of your Reference Code (make it easy to recognise what it does)
If values require a custom sort (other than alphabetically)
If values require a custom colour
If values require a custom image
If values require Trimming (recommended to remove spaces before and after each value)
Values
Enter the details for each value (L-R):
Code: the value as it occurs in the database
Description: the value you want to see in your report
Sort: the sort number for this value (if enabled)
Colour: the colour for this value (if enabled)
Image: the image for this value (if enabled)
Click + to add this value to your reference code
You can also populate the available values from the database (data source). You can still manually add values to allow for other possible answers.
Refresh
We recommend leaving the Reference Code values to be updated manually. Save your reference code changes.
You can now use this reference code in the current report, as well as in other reports using this field (or other fields with the same values).
Applying a Reference Code to Filter Values
If you are using a value list selection with cached filter values on a field that has a Reference Code applied in the view, you can apply this to the filter to sort them in accordance with the reference code.
Note: this returns the reference code values instead of the cached filter values. If you are missing values in your list, you will need to update your reference code.
