Both rules and assessment steps can have ‘weighting’ applied to them to provide additional scoring emphasis. For example, the role you are recruiting for may require a high level of customer service competency. You are able to weight any customer service components of the assessment process so that candidates that score well in this area will achieve a higher overall score.

For the system to generate a score it must have a rule weighting and the step that the score is on must have a step weighting. If no specific weighting is required just insert 100 to the score rule weighting and then insert 100 to the step weighting.

Rule Weighting

To add rule weighting:

  1. On the Manage Assessment Process page, locate the step that you want to apply the rule weightings weighting to.

  2. Add rule weightings weighting to the rules by entering the weighting here.

Additionally, weightings can be applied to assessment steps using Step Weighting. For example, if the Shortlisting step of the assessment process carries more weight than say, the Interview step, then this can be weighted accordingly. The total sum of the step weightings must equal 100.

To add step weighting:

  1. Add weightings to the assessment steps by entering the weightings in these boxes here.

The example below shows that the steps are weighted equally.
