The CSV importer function allows you to upload bulk assessment results (perfect for Graduate campaigns and other bulk intakes), from a CSV file (or spreadsheet), directly into the APM.

Let’s see how it works.

  1. Go to the Assessment Process Manager (APM).

  2. Under the Candidate Groups & Assessment heading, click Import Candidate Data.

  3. This will display the Import Candidate Data page.

  4. To import the candidate data, you must first export the assessment form questions and answer options into the CSV (spreadsheet) template.

  5. Click the radio button next to Export/Download Candidate Assessment Form Template.

  6. This will display a list of the Assessment steps you have as part of the APM for this job.

  7. Click on the name of the Assessment step that you want to import the assessment results into.

  8. Click the Process button.

  9. This will return you to the list of candidates at this step. Select the candidates whose assessment results you wish to import. Only candidates in the Not Started or In Progress columns should be selected.

  10. From the Action dropdown list, select Export Candidates and click GO.

  11. The next page displays showing the number of candidates selected. Click the Export Data button to create the request.

  12. This will take you to the Active Messages page. The system will then place your export request in a scheduled task queue. Based on the size of the exported file, it should take a few moments to be ready for export. If you wish click F5 on your keyboard to refresh your browser. Whilst you are waiting for the file to be ready, you can navigate to other sections of the system.

  13. Once this request is completed, the message here will change.

  14. Additionally, a download link will appear at the end of that row.

  15. The next step is to click this link.

  16. This will download and display a CSV file that when opened will look something like this.

  17. This file contains the crucial candidate information, as well as the key data contained on the assessment form.

  18. By scrolling to the left, you will see columns that correspond with the fields on the assessment form.

  19. Update these columns with each candidate’s assessment results.

Note: These must match EXACTLY the answer options from the assessment form, or the upload will fail. Luckily, the answer options appear on the CSV as mentioned before here.

  20. So, once this CSV file is updated, it will look something like this.

  21. When you have updated this CSV file, you will need to save it to a file in your directory, or to your desktop.

  22. Once you have saved this file, return to the assessment matrix of the job, click on the Candidate Groups & Assessment heading and click on Import Candidate Data again.

  23. Select Import/Upload Candidate Assessment Form and select the assessment step you want to upload the candidates to.

  24. Click the Process button.

  25. This will display the Import Candidate Data form. Click the Choose File button to locate the CSV file you have saved to your directory or desktop.

  26. Once you have located the CSV file, click the File Upload button.

  27. Again, you will be taken to the Active Messages screen the request to import the candidate data is queued here until the task is complete. This will take a couple of minutes.

  28. Once this request is completed, the message here will change.

  29. Additionally, a delete link will appear at the end of that row, click this link after you have confirmed the upload was successful.  Do this to maintain this message list, as it will be used for export and package requests.

  30. When you go back to the APM, the results from the file upload will then be reflected.

Note: The completed form will be available for each candidate via the Candidate Card.
