Summary
Configure Global Question Report Headings
What It Is: When a Global Question is to be used in a report, Users will have the ability to configure the heading title that appears in the report.
The Benefits: Users can configure a heading that best defines the Global Question when it appears in a report.
Configure Global Question Report Headings
Currently, when a Global Question is used in reporting, the heading title on the report is derived from the Question Reference field of the Global Question. This is not an ideal situation as the reference may not provide the necessary descriptive detail to act as a heading on a report. In addition, deleting a Global Question used in a report could lead to report corruption.
In this release we are pleased to announce that Users will be able to enter unique heading text for any Global Question they want to report on via a new field: the Report Field Heading. The Report Field Heading is located in the Report Options tab of the Global Question.
To configure the report heading for a Global Question, Users first select the System tab and then select the Global Questions link under the System options.
Report headings can be configured for new Global Questions or existing ones not marked for reporting. From the Global Question List screen, Users select to add a new Global Question or edit an existing Global Question.
Select the Report Options tab in the Manage Global question screen. If configuring a new Global Question, this tab is only displayed once the Global Question has been saved. For the Report Field Heading option to be displayed a context must be selected from the, “Include this question in report” checkbox options.
Once a box is checked, the new field will appear. It will be pre-populated with the Question Reference from the Question Details tab as the default. This can be changed to your preferred header to be used in the report.
IMPORTANT: Once saved the field becomes read-only and cannot be changed. Ensure the heading is correct before saving. You have now configured the header for the Global Question to be used in Reports.
Note: If a Global Question is currently marked for use in a report, its existing reference will be used as its heading.
Note: Please read all the notes associated with Report Context Options as they provide invaluable information.
