Summary
Ability to select the Custom Tertiary Question as a child question on forms
What It Is: This enhancement will enable the Custom Tertiary Question to be configured as a child question on forms, consistent with the existing functionality of other global questions.
The Benefits: This enhancement will allow extra flexibility in the configuration of application forms capturing candidate’s education details. It is now possible to use the Custom Tertiary Question for candidates who have Tertiary details to enter, whilst those candidates who don’t, do not have to answer the question.
Ability to select the Custom Tertiary Question as a child question on forms
Following this deployment, the Custom Tertiary Question will be able to be selected to display as a child question on forms.
The Custom Tertiary Question is a pre-configured set of questions that allow users to select:
ï‚· The qualification type obtained
ï‚· The Australian Institution they have attended
ï‚· The length of the course
ï‚· The start date
ï‚· The expected completion date
ï‚· GPA score.
The candidate then enters the subject code and subject name, and then has the option of selecting the result code from a drop down list (The answer options are dynamically related to the Institution chosen) OR entering a numeric result.
To demonstrate the use of this new functionality, we’ll look at an application form where you want to capture the education details of your candidates, but not all candidates may have completed a Tertiary qualification.
The first question is the parent question and answering ‘No’ displays the child question for non-tertiary qualified candidates to enter their details:
If a candidates answers ‘Yes’ to the parent question, we want to display the Custom Tertiary Question. First we need to add this to the Application form. To do this, edit the form, then click on the ‘Add Global Question’ link on the ‘Education Details’ form step:
Search for ‘Tertiary Degree’ on the ‘Add Global Question’ page:
Once the question is displayed, click ‘Add’ to add the question to the Application Form:
NOTE: When you add the ‘Tertiary Degree’ question to the form, it will appear as two separate questions on the form ‘Tertiary Degree’ and ‘Subject Results’. When creating this question as a ‘Child’ question in the Parent – Child relationship, both questions need to be added as the children.
To add the ‘Tertiary Degree’ and ‘Subject Results’ questions as children, edit the ‘TQ – Completed Tertiary Qualification question:
Click on the ‘Answer Options’ link:
We want the Custom Tertiary Degree question to appear when candidates answer ‘Yes’ to this question, so click ‘Edit’ for the ‘Yes’ answer option:
Select both the ‘Tertiary Degree’ and ‘Subject Results’ questions from the Available Questions list then click ‘Add’ to add them as Dynamic Child Questions:
Click ‘Save’:
On the Edit Application Form screen the Tertiary Degree and Subject Results questions are now liked as Dynamic Child Questions:
On the candidate facing Application Form, when ‘Yes’ is selected to the parent ‘Have you completed a Tertiary qualification?’ question, the Custom Tertiary Degree question will now be displayed:
