Using Dynamic Prompts with Multiple Choice Questions
A multiple choice question typically allows the respondent to choose their answer from either a dropdown list or a series of radio buttons. Using a feature called Dynamic Prompt Recruitment will allow the respondent to type in a letter (or letters) based on my preferred answer into a textbox, and then they will be given a number of answer options that contains that specific letter, or number of letters.
When a user types in letters that’s match an answer option, the matching options will appear in the drop down list.
Here you can see that the options appear in the list that has an ‘e’ in the title. It will also how which letter in the option matches the specification.
If the user types in the word ‘Sales’, it will show that all the letters match the word (and if there are any other options that have ‘Sales’ in it.
If the user wants to see all the options available, they can click on the Show All link at the base of the list.
This option is not just for new questions, but also for any existing questions in your Recruitment system.
Here is how to configure this option:
- Create a question as per the previous instruction.
- In the Question Details section, select the Multiple Choice type from this drop-down list.
- Complete the Question Details tab and click on the Question Options tab.
- Choose Dynamic Prompt from the Answer Display Format dropdown list.
Note: To add your options, click the Answer Options tab as per a normal Multiple Choice question. - Click the Save button at the bottom right of the screen.
