Adding a rule to the Assessment Process to flag Candidates

A rule can be configured to flag a candidate’s application in the Candidate List.

A rule can be configured on the Assessment Process Template. This flagging rule will be applied to all jobs that are created from that template. A rule to flag candidates can also be configured on one job only. This is done through the job card. This rule will need to be configured prior to the job open date.

Rules to flag candidates based on a response to an application form question are configured against the first step of the assessment process. For example, this rule may be configured to flag candidates that are not an Australian Citizen, ATSI candidate, previous conviction, current employee, previous employee.

Note - A rule to flag the candidate’s response to an application form question can be configured to an assessment process template that has been linked to a job template that has an application form.

After we have established that the Questions that we are trying to base our flags exist on the Application form we need to create our rules (Flags) in our assessment process.

Follow the steps below to add a flag to the assessment process:

  1. Click on the System tab.

  2. Click on Assessment Process Templates

  3. Locate the template that is linked to a Job template. Job template name will be displayed under ‘Job Name’ column.

  4. Click on the name of the assessment process.

  5. If the rule is to flag a candidate based on the response from an application form question, click Add Rule on step 1 of the process.

  6. Enter the name for your rule (eg. Disability)

  7. Set the Rule Trigger to be ‘Entry’. This means the rule will trigger once the candidate has submitted their application form.

  8. Select the application form as the Source.

  9. Once the source is selected, the question field will appear. Criteria field is used in the case when we are basing rule of the selection criteria questions, we will leave the value in this field as ‘none’ in this configuration.

  10. Select the question that you wish to base your flag off.

  11. Select the value that will trigger the rule. In this example, the value to be selected is ‘Yes’. Candidates that have a disability will be flagged.

  12. Click Save

  13. Once the rule has been create you will have the functionality to add an action.

  14. Click Add Action

  15. Select ‘Set ATS Flag’ as the action type.
ATS: Applicant Tracking System - The ATS flag is a candidate job flag.

  16. Once the action type has been selected you will be prompted to enter the Flag Text.

  17. The flag text will be displayed to a user when they hover over the flag from the Candidate List.
