This deployment

This deployment will occur on the evening of Tuesday 20th March 2012 and will include the following enhancements to your System:

Job List Feed via XML: Providing the ability to access a feed of job posting information to be used by Job Boards or websites.

reCAPTCHA Enhancement: To improve the Candidate experience, we have made changes to when reCAPTCHA is displayed.

Candidate Portal Job List pagination enhancement: Following the February change to display the Candidate Portal Jobs List in pages of 20 jobs instead of all on one page, we have added the pagination options to the bottom of Job List Pages.

Improvements to filter options on the Candidate and Task Candidate Lists: Global Assessment Form questions are now available for use in the Candidate and Task Candidate List filter forms.

Vendors can now enter Duplicate Candidates: Vendors will now be able to upload a Candidate that already exists in the system.

Resume Parsing using BGT (Burning Glass Technology): We have added a new Resume Parsing module to eRecruit that will provide the capability for Candidates to upload their resume to prefill their application form.

Job List Feed via XML

Customers and Job Board vendors often reach out to us to request the ability to have Jobs appear on different Job List/Job Board/websites. We are excited to announce that this release includes a new Job List XML feed. By accessing the specific URL, a feed of the jobs being posted to your Candidate Portal can be accessed in real time and displayed on a separate site or Job Board. This is a licensable feature so please contact your Account Manager if you would like to discuss this new feature as part of your solution.

reCAPTCHA Enhancement

Our monitoring of Candidate Portal activity and feedback from Customers and Candidates alerted us to certain security/firewall settings blocking the Google reCAPTCHA image from appearing causing the User to not see or be able to enter the image text, thus the page cannot be submitted.

The reCAPTCHA was introduced to prevent automated computer hits on links such as email a friend that can cause spam activity. This security measure is still very important however we have made some adjustments to ensure that the Candidate experience is not impacted.

To address this, on the ‘Forgotten Password’, ‘Email a Friend’ and “Registration Form” (if enabled) pages where reCAPTCHA appears, the reCAPTCHA image will only appear after a User, identified by their IP Address, has 5 or more events within a 5 minute window. If an individual User refreshes the page or submits the form 5 times within 5 minutes from the same IP address, then on the next attempt they will see the reCAPTCHA image.

Candidate Portal Job List pagination enhancement

Following last month’s introduction of pagination to Candidate Portal Job lists, we have received feedback that candidates are experiencing some confusion. In response to this feedback, we have added the pagination options to the bottom of Job List Pages.

Improvements to filter options on the Candidate and Task Candidate Lists

The Candidate List currently provides functionality to filter Candidates based on responses to Application Form questions. This feature has been expanded to include Global Questions contained on the Global Assessment Form (GAF). In addition to the filter option, questions can also be added as an additional column in the Candidate List. To add an Application Form or GAF Global Question to a Candidate List as a column, Users first need to add these questions to the Filter Form accessed by the ‘Add Filter’ link within the Candidate List:

From the ‘Add Filter Question’ page select your Application Form or GAF questions. NB. You may select as many questions as you like to display on the Search Filter, however you may only choose two of these questions to display in columns in the Candidate List:

The questions you have added now appear on your Search Filter:

To add two of these questions as columns, click on the ‘Select List Columns’ link, tick the Question Column 1 (and 2 if required) then choose from the dropdown list of questions you have added, and click Submit:

You will now see these sortable columns added to your Candidate List:

Filtering the Task Candidate List

Similar to the Candidate List enhancement described above, users can now also add Application Form and GAF questions as column filters to the Task Candidate List. The Task Candidate List Filter Form is managed as a system wide form and therefore configured from the Systems page. As such the process involved to set this up is a little different, so please contact your Account Manager or the NGA Support team if you would like to set this up.

Once configured, Users will be able to add the column filters to their Task Candidate List following the same steps as the standard Candidate List. Adding the column filters is User and Task specific:

Vendors can now enter Duplicate Candidates

The Vendor module has been enhanced to allow Vendors to apply Candidates to a Job using the Candidates email address even if the candidate is already registered in the system. Previously when entering a Candidate that already existed, Vendors would be presented with a validation message advising that the Candidate already exists and therefore prevent the Vendor from putting the Candidate forward without amending their email address. This caused challenges particularly where the assessment process requires the Candidate to do online assessment testing via the Candidate Portal and therefore important for the Candidate to receive emails directly. This enhancement will allow for Vendors to enter the Candidate, using the Candidates email address. Please note this change is not enabled by default so unless activated, the process for Vendors will remain as is.

Once this feature is turned on, when a Duplicate Candidate is entered the only noticeable change for the Vendor is that if ‘Normal Access’ is selected, the password field will no longer display. The password will now be auto generated:

Recruiter and HR Users accessing managing the Job will have visibility with the Duplicate Candidates identified by a ‘Duplicate Candidate’ Flag. The flag will be visible when looking at the Candidate List, task Candidate List, Talent Search results or Quick Search results.

If a candidate needs to access the Candidate Portal as part of the assessment process they will need to login with their ID number and not their email address. Logging in with their email address will log them into their main Candidate account they created themselves. Candidates will be notified of these login details via email communication. When emailing a Duplicate Candidate and ticking the box to include the Applicant Logon Details:

The Username for the Duplicate Candidate will be their ID Number:

From a Duplicate Candidate perspective, when they logon using their Duplicate Candidate ID, they will see the following message:

If you would like this feature activated please contact your Account Manager or the NGA Support Team.

Resume Parsing using BGT (Burning Glass Technology)

Your eRecruit system now has the ability to utilise BGT (Burning Glass Technology) to allow Candidates to start the application process with a Resume upload that will then use BGT parsing to populate fields on the application form from the resume.

The parsing capability can populate Free Text question types and uses artificial intelligence to identify data in the resume and parse (populate) associated questions on the application form. Candidates are then able to review their application form and complete any remaining fields as well as review and edit any of the populated data. When parsing is used to populate the application form, standard eRecruit pre population will not occur.

When enabled, Candidates will be presented with a new page at the very start of the application process (after registration). Candidates will have the option to upload their resume for parsing to occur or to select “Save and Continue” and skip this process, completing the application form and attaching their resume during this process as per normal. When the parsing process is skipped, standard eRecruit pre population functionality will occur.

This is a licensable feature so please contact your Account Manager if you would like to discuss this new feature as part of your solution.
