Lock and Unlock Candidate Account

The candidate portal can be configured to control the locking of candidate portal accounts. The number of incorrect password attempts a candidate can perform can be configured to lock a candidate account.
When the lockout period has elapsed, the candidate will be able to either reset their password or attempt to login again.
A super user can manually unlock a locked candidate portal account.

Configure the number of incorrect logon attempts

  1. Navigate to the System tab.

  2. Click Configure CP Password Policy within the Candidate Portal menu.
    Note: If you cannot locate the Candidate Portal menu you will need to provide your user group or user account access to the Candidate Portal module.

  3. Navigate to the ‘Manage Candidate Portal Lockout Policy’ section and enter:
    Candidate ID Retries Before Lockout - the desired number of incorrect password attempts in the field Candidate ID Retries Before Lockout.

    Candidate ID Lockout Period (minutes) – candidate lockout period after the number of incorrect attempts. Once this time has elapsed the candidate will be able to either reset their password or attempt to login again.

  4. Click Save to finalise.

 

Notification Emails to Candidate

The following email templates can be customised:

  • Candidate Portal Lockout Email Template

  • Candidate Portal Unlocked Email Template

Follow the steps below to customise these emails:

  1. Navigate to the System tab.

  2. Under Communication Manager click on Email Templates.

  3. Locate the email template by clicking CTRL & F on your keyboard.

  4. Type in ‘candidate portal’.

  5. Click Edit on the email you wish to edit.

  6. The following fields can be configured.

  7. Click Save and Review to finalise.

 

 

Unlocking a Candidate account

There may be a need to manually unlock the candidates account before the lockout period has elapsed. A Super User has the facilities to manually unlock a locked candidate portal account.

Follow the steps below to unlock a candidate account:

  1. Navigate to the System tab.

  2. Under Security click on Locked CP Account List.
    Note: If you do not have this permission you will need to provide the module and function permission to your user account or your user group. To find out more information see the guide below ‘System permission to unlock a candidate account’.

  3. The candidate that has been locked out will display in the list, click Unlock to manually unlock the account.



System permission to unlock a candidate account

  1. Navigate to the System tab.

  2. If you wish to apply this permission to a user group, click User Group Manager.
    Alternatively, you can apply it to a user this would be done within User Manager.

  3. Click Edit on the User Group.

  4. Navigate to the Actions list and click Module Permissions.

  5. Ensure the module ‘Security’ is selected.

  6. Scroll down and click Save.

  7. Navigate to the Actions list and click Function Permissions.

  8. Scroll down to Security (Tip: Hold CTRL & F on your keyboard and type ‘locked CP’).

  9. Select the checkbox for the function ‘Locked CP Account List’.

  10. Scroll down and click Save.
