Make Step Decision
This rule is often accompanied by a decision question in a requisition form. Typically used to reflect a requisition decision (e.g. makes the requisition step Successful, Unsuccessful or On Hold) and progress the requisition to the next approval step.
- The source for a requisition step decision rule is always a multiple choice decision question in a requisition form.
- Select the Source and Question upon which the rule will be triggered. As this action is based on a requisition form, select the form as the source (in this case the form called Request to Recruit) and the Decision Question – Proceed to next step.
- Select the answer option to trigger the rule (in this case, Proceed to next step).
- Once you have set up the rule trigger(s), click the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.
- Click the Add Action link and the Action Type list will appear.
- Select Make Step Decision from the Action Type dropdown list.
- The following fields will appear:
- The Decision drop-down list will have Successful, Unsuccessful or On Hold as options. This directly correlates to the Requisition Process.
Note: When building a step decision rule for an approved requisition step, always use “Successful”. - When you select Successful, you will see an option called Next Step. This will allow the rule to automatically move the requisition to a particular approval step in the process. If you select On Hold or Unsuccessful, this dropdown list won’t appear.
- Once you have set up the Action, click the Save button.
- The action will now appear at the base of the Manage Rule screen:
