Release 06.01.2011

Available Thursday 6January 2011

Important announcements

We are happy to announce that NGA.NET eRecruit is moving to monthly deployments as of February 2011.

2010 was a busy year for eRecruit Users with frequent deployments of new features.

We understand from regular feedback received over the last 6 months that the high frequency of deployments has impacted our customers ability to make use of all our new features. To ensure that our customers get the most value out of the development we do, NGA.NET are making the move to monthly deployments.

There are many benefits to monthly deployments, such as:

  • More time between deployments means our QA team can operate more efficiently; and
  • The ability to advise Super Users well in advance of upcoming changes and if/how this will impact your solution.

Stay tuned as later this month we will be sending out more details about the change, when it will happen and how it will benefit you and your team.

Enhancements

This deployment will cover the following enhancements to your system:

  • Multiple Step Form further enhancements: In the last release note, we asked you via our User Community for feedback on our Multiple Step Form functionality. As a result, the current 'Save and Continue' button will be changed to 'Preview & Submit' allowing Users to preview the form before submitting. A new 'Submit' button will also be added to this screen, allowing Users to submit the form without previewing.

  • Job Overview merge tag: Users will be able to add merge tags so that information captured in the Job Details Form can be merged to the Job Overview (similar to Email Templates). Information such as state, division, classification etc... can be merged so it is visible to candidates on the Job Overview.

  • WYSIWYG editor character count improvements: Improvements have been made to the character count function on the WYSIWYG editor to remove a time lag some of our Users were experiencing.

  • Merge Group Questions: Users will be able to merge out information (individual cells) from Group Questions when generating merged Word/RTF (Rich Text File) documents.

  • Homepage User Interface change:  A slight change has been made to the User Interface of the homepage to ensure that Jobs and Requisitions are created correctly.

Please see below for further detail, as always, if you have queries about any of these changes please contact the NGA.NET Support Team on 1800 642 638 or email support@nga.net.

Multiple Step Form further enhancements

Recently we asked you for feedback about how we can improve multiple step forms.  As a result the current 'Save and Continue' button will be changed to 'Preview & Submit' - allowing Users to preview the form before submitting.

A new 'Submit' button will also be added to this screen, allowing Users to submit the form without previewing.

Job Overview merge tag

In an effort to improve usability, efficiency and candidate care, Users will be able to add merge tags to the Job Overview via the ‘Job Overview Merged tag’ icon. Information will automatically populate from the Job Details Form (similar to Email Templates).

Information that has been captured in eRecruit such as State, Division, Classification etc... can be merged so it is visible to candidates when they are viewing the Job Overview.

Not all Global Questions can be used as Merge Tags, only Standards Types including the following can be merged:

  • Free Text
  • Multi Choice
  • Yes / No
  • Date
  • Multi Select

Throughout the system, there are different areas where Users can view the Job Overview.

Accessing the Job Overview from the Talent Card and exported CSV files will display the merge tags without data:

Accessing the Job Overview from anywhere else in the system will show merged data in place of the tags:

IMPORTANT NOTE: When using Job Overview merge in Emails, the standard Job Overview tag has been disabled for selection from the list, however, if the tag is manually typed in, the merge action will still occur. This means that there will be no impact on existing Email Templates when this is roll outed. We encourage Users to use the new Job Overview Merge tag when merging into emails.

WYSIWYG editor character count improvements

We became aware that the character count feature in the new WYSIWYG editor was causing a lag for some of our customers.  This was due to the fact that it was being calculated in real time. The WYSIWYG editor will now provide a character count on demand. Users can check the character count by clicking a new icon from the WYSIWYG editor.

Once this icon is clicked, a pop up window will display, detailing the following:

  • Word(s);
  • Character(s); and
  • Approximate character(s)(inc. HTML).

We would recommend that instructions are put onto forms where WYSIWYG editors are used so that Users know how to access the character count. Please contact the NGA.NET Support Team on 1800 642 638 or email support@nga.net if you need help setting up instructional text on forms.

Merge Group Questions

Currently, Users are able to generate documents such as Position Descriptions using information that has already been captured in eRecruit. The Merge Document feature allows existing information in eRecruit to be extracted and merged into RTF (Rich Text Files).

As a result from the feedback we have received, work has been completed to allow our Users to merge out data from Group Questions. Users will be able to merge out individual cells (answers) from a Group Question, instead of the entire Group Question table.

This feature will improve process efficiencies, information that has already been captured will not have to be manually updated on merged documents.

If you have queries or would like more information about Merging out Group Questions, please contact the NGA.NET Support Team on 1800 642 638 or email support@nga.net.

Homepage User Interface change

In an effort to improve consistency, and to ensure that our Users are able to select the correct workflow processes when Position Manager is used as part of an integration, the ‘Use Template’ options will be removed from the Quick Links box on the homepage.

The Quick Links box on the Homepage used to look like this:

To improve consistency and usability, the Quick Links box will now look like this:

When ‘+New’ is clicked, Users will be taken directly to the page that shows available options to Users, as if you were creating a Job or Requisition from either of those pages. The options that appear on the screen after ‘+New’ is clicked can be configured based on your processes.

If you have queries or would like more information on how to configure available options for Users, please contact the NGA.NET Support Team on 1800 642 638 or email support@nga.net.
