Release 13.06.2011
New Reporting Views
This deployment is an enhancement to your existing reporting capability by adding an additional 20 views to your System. This release will be phased over a ten week period commencing Monday 13 June 2011. You will be contacted when your System is scheduled to be configured with the new views. Your Account Manager will be your central point of contact and if you have any questions or concerns regarding your scheduled deployment please do not hesitate to contact them on 1800 642 638.
What are Views?
Reporting views are how data is structured within the eRecruit Reporting module. We have recently re-designed the views to improve performance and provide a better end-user experience.  The new views are designed to make the data structure more flexible for users to find and build reports.
Within each view are Fields based on either System data or Global Questions data. They are the components of your report. You can identify what data operates within a view by selecting More Information about this view.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a phased deployment based on additional configuration work required. Until the configuration work is complete in your System you may be able to see the new views but not be able to use them. If in doubt, please contact the Support team on 1800 642 638.
What are the benefits of the New Views?
There are currently a limited number of views available to you in the Reporting Module. We have increased this to an additional 20, creating a more granular, detailed data structure. By using the new views you will be able to build reports that are more relevant to your organisation.Â
For example, one of our customers who trialled the new views, was keen to identify the process delays in their Requisition Approval Process. By creating a report using the New Process Step Data View they were able to report on the length of approval based on their user data and therefore identify the bottlenecks in their System. Â
How will the release process work?
To enable the new views, each System requires a manual set up by our support team. As such not all customers’ systems can be enabled at the same time. Commencing Monday 13th June the views will be released to customers in groups. Your Account Manager will confer with you on your scheduled release period. Your System will not be offline during this process and other users should not experience any impact. The Support team will email you to let you know that your new views are ready to be used.Â
How does this release impact me?
The new views are an enhancement to your existing Reporting capability and you will continue to have access to both your existing Customised Reports and also Standard Reports. All new reports (Ad Hoc and Custom) will need to be built using the new views. By using them you will improve the performance, relevancy and specificity of your reports.  We are providing free webinars on New Views in early June to provide you with basic training and more information on how to use the new views.Â
How will my existing Customised Reports be affected?
You will continue to be able to run your existing Customised Reports off the existing views. New reports required by your team or internal stakeholders must be built using the new views. We will be continually reviewing how your Customised Reports based on old views are running to ensure that performance issues are addressed. This is a great opportunity to review your existing reports and we encourage you to work with your Account Manager on this process.Â
How do I build a report based on a New View?
Once your System is configured and deployed you can start building reports immediately. We will be running a series of free Webinars on New Views and How to Build Reports on Monday 6 June, Wednesday 8 June and Thursday 9 June. If you are interested in attending please register your interest via the User Community. We will also schedule future webinars throughout the release period.
Note: Alternately, why not consider a specific Training session with our Trainer? This will allow you to have training tailored to your specific System and organizational goals. Contact your Account Manager to discuss.
The User Guides for Ad Hoc Reporting are in the process of being updated and will be available to all users from 6 June 2011 via the User Community. We encourage all Super Users to review their Reporting requirements with an NGA.NET Solutions Consultant to ensure they are maximizing the potential of the new views and Reporting module.
How will my existing Standard Reports be affected?
Your existing Standard Reports will remain unchanged. The Product team will commence a project in July 2011 to review the relevance and structure of Standard Reports and to maximize the potential the new views provide to all Systems. If you are interested in providing feedback on how Standard Reports are used in your organisation please contact us via email.
How will I know when my System has got the New Views?
When your System has been updated Support will let you know via email that they are ready to be used. Â You can identify the new views by accessing the drop down menu when you create a report
Where do I get help on the New Views?
The User Guides for Ad Hoc Report will be updated and available via the User Community from 6 June. If you have any subsequent questions please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support team on 1800 642 638.
