Upcoming Release

We are delighted to announce the release of Yellowfin 5.2 to all solutions on 26th October 2011. This version of Yellowfin includes new charts and improved usability. Watch out for a special release note on this item over the next few weeks.

Configuration Comments

Configuration Comments is a new feature for Super Users to manage configuration changes within their solution. From Wednesday 19th October you will be able to record notes against configuration to capture reasons for certain configuration options, use of certain templates and notes to remind you of rules within the workflow.  These comments can be used as a communication to other Super Users, notes from NGA.NET’s Support team to you (based on changes or work completed for you) or as a reminder to you when managing your configuration.

Configuration Comments are available in the following areas of your solution:

  • Requisition Process and Process Steps
  • Assessment Process and Process Steps
  • Job Templates
  • Rules
  • Form Templates
  • System Forms
  • User Groups
  • Roles
  • User Defined Views
  • Global Questions (within the Library and within a form)

Configurations Comments are shown to any User who has the ability to configure the item. Users will be able to add and see a Configuration Comment at the bottom of each page as they are creating or editing configuration.

Please note that comments cannot be deleted. Once saved, they will always be visible to all users with configuration access.

In the example below we are working within an Assessment Process template. Scrolling down to the bottom of the page the user will now see a Configuration Comment’s footer.

Simply select the footer and the System will respond displaying the current Configuration Comments. To add a comment, select the Add Comment icon as shown below.

The System will respond by opening a new window allowing you to type in your comment within a text box.

Users are able to easily identify if the configuration is critical to the solution by selecting the Critical Configuration “checkbox”. This selection will update the Configuration Comment’s from blue to red.

As more comments are added over time and to ensure important comments are not visible we have created a simple feature to allow you to pin a comment to the top of the list.

The comment log displays the User who has entered the comment and the date it was created on. Comments are displayed in the order that they were created unless they have been “pinned” to the top of the list.

Should you decide that a comment is no longer critical or it has been superseded by another configuration change, you can simply unpin that comment from the list by selecting the icon. This comment will then placed in the order of the date it was created.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, Users who have a permission to configure an element have the ability to add and review notes. Please contact the Support team if you have any queries about who has access to configuration.

Improved in the Export Candidate Function

Users will be familiar with the ability to export candidate information such as Assessment, Approval and Application forms from within the Candidate List.

In response to your feedback, we have improved the usability around this function by displaying the forms in the order of their completion within the Assessment process. Once you’ve selected the candidates for export the System will display the Export Candidate Data menu.

Note that by selecting the Show/Hide Questions link you will also be able to nominate the Question data which you want exported.

Once you have made your selection select the Export Data button and the package will be displayed within the Messages Tab.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, the ability to Export is a permission based function and can be assigned within the User or User Group Manager.

New Executive Classifications for Seek

Further to Seek’s recent retirement of their Executive Job Board, they have created new Executive classifications for you to use when posting an advertisement. You will notice the new classification options in the Classifications and Sub-Classifications drop down menus.

Simply select and apply it to your job, ensuring your advertisement captures the right candidate interest on Seek.

ApplyDirect Partnership

We are delighted to announce a new partnership arrangement with ApplyDirect, a new Australian job search tool.

ApplyDirect use a sophisticated cataloguing technology to optimise the search-ability of your job advertisement. Their service is only available to Australian employers and so your ad is not lost in the sheer volume of recruiter advertisements available within other job boards.

No customisation or integration is needed. ApplyDirect handle both the cataloguing and posting of your advertisement. The role is posted on ApplyDirect with a link back to your specific advertisement and Application form.

To enable ApplyDirect within your sourcing strategy please contact your Account Manager on 1800 642 638.
