Release 17.09.2010

Available Friday 17 September, 2010

Please note: For this release only, the deployment will occur on Thursday night instead of the usual Wednesday night deployment.

This week’s release includes:

  • New icons to view applications and resumes on the Task Candidate List.

  • APM changes allowing Users to ‘Send Setup Task Notification Emails’ for assessment steps when ‘Configure immediately prior to step opening’ is selected.

  • The ‘Role Setup’ and ‘Assign User’ steps can have a task email sent to the assigned User/User group/role.

  • The ‘Role Setup’, ‘Talent Search’ and ‘Assign User’ steps, display the previous form link, allowing Users to view the forms that have been completed at prior steps

  • Assessment Form steps can be configured to be a part of a concurrent group.

We recommend that all jobs posted to SEEK prior to 18th August be reviewed. Please see below for further detail.

Task Candidate List additional changes

Further to our last deployment, there have been additional features added to the Task Candidate List. An Application and Resume icon will be visible in the documents column, between Applicant and Overall Step Status. Users will be able to easily access and review applications and resumes.

Task emails in APM (Assessment Process Manager)

When configuring an APM form step to ‘Configure immediately prior to step opening’ you now have the ability to ‘Send SetupTask Notification Email’ to the User assigned to the Setup Task, as well as a notification to the Users who are assigned as part of the Setup task. These emails can be different to allow for appropriate instructions for the different task/actions to be completed.

PLEASE NOTE: The ‘Configure immediately prior to step opening’ is only available for Assessment steps, not Approval steps.

Changes in Requisitions

To be consistent with other requisition steps the following enhancements have been made:

When configuring the ‘Role Setup’ and ‘Assign User ’ steps,  you are now able to select to ‘Send Task Notification Emails’.

The ‘Role Setup’, ‘Assign User’ and ‘Talent Search’ steps in the Requisition process will now display the ’Show/Hide Previous Forms’ link to Users (on the right hand side of the screen). This will allow Users to view forms that have already been completed.

Concurrent groups in the APM

NGA.NET is excited to announce that Assessment Form steps can now be configured to be a part of a concurrent group.

How Concurrent groups work:

  • On entering a group of concurrent steps, all step tasks are opened for immediate processing regardless of order
  • Candidates cannot leave the concurrent group without all steps being completed and made successful
  • When one step is made unsuccessful all other steps are also made unsuccessful, whether they have been completed or not

This enables customers to run multiple assessment tasks at once, saving considerable time. Common use of concurrent steps are simple go/no-go activities such as medical or police checks, thus the order of completion is not linear.

To use concurrent groups, Users need to tick the Task Sequence check box when managing the assessment steps in the Job Card.

A new icon will be displayed next to a step, enabling Users to easily determine which steps are part of the concurrent group.

Some other points to consider when using concurrent groups are:

  • As steps can be completed in any order, rules/actions need to be configured on all steps within the concurrent group to ensure a candidate can exit the group.
  • Any step/s that has been completed will be marked as unsuccessful if another step within the concurrent group is made unsuccessful.
  • There is no restriction on the number of concurrent groups that can be configured in an APM, the groups are treated as separate concurrent groups.
  • Concurrent groups cannot be a target step for an approval form/step.

Seek Announcement

We are aware that since the deployment of the SEEK changes on August 18th, many of our customers have been receiving mapping error messages when posting jobs to the SEEK job board.

Whilst these jobs have been posted, SEEK have notified us that at the end of the month, mapping will no longer occur and that all jobs posted with old values will not be published.

We recommend that all job ads posted prior to the August 18th deployment which are still open be reviewed. The areas that require attention are:

  • Classifications
  • Sub-classifications
  • Area
  • Location
  • Salary range
