Make Step Decision (Assessment)

This rule is often accompanied by a decision question in an assessment form.  Typically it is used to reflect an assessment decision (e.g. makes the candidate Successful, Unsuccessful or On Hold), and can be used to progress a candidate to the next assessment step.

The source for an assessment step decision rule is often a multiple choice decision question contained within an assessment form.

  1. Select the Source and question upon which the rule will be triggered.  As this action is using an assessment form, select the form as the source (in this case the form called Reference Check).

  2. Select the answer option to trigger the rule (in this case, we will choose successful).

  3. Once you have set up the rule triggers, click the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.

  4. Click the Add Action link and the Action Type list will appear.

  5. Select Make Step Decision from the Action Type dropdown list.

  6. The following fields will appear.

  7. The Decision drop-down list will have Successful, Unsuccessful or On Hold as options.  This directly correlates to the APM.

  8. When you select Successful, you will then see an option called Next Assessment Step.  This will allow the rule to automatically move the candidate to a particular step in the APM.  If you select On Hold or Unsuccessful, this dropdown list will not appear.

If you have set the APM steps as skippable, then you will be able to choose the steps from this dropdown list, else you will only see the next available step.

  9. Once you have set up the Action, click the Save button at the bottom right hand corner.

  10. To return to the APM, click the Assessment Process link at the top left of the screen.
